Time Suspended in a Pastoral Past

There is no place I know better than Point Reyes National Seashore, a geologically unique peninsula of desolate rolling grasslands, fierce Pacific  winds, pine forests, marshes, inland lagoons, Tule Elk, and historical working  dairy farms. Formed by two huge Pacific plates running north and south along the San Andreas Fault, Point Reyes status as a national park has preserved this land who’s hi story runs back to the Indians who lived there, to Sir Francis Drake who discovered it in 1550, to its present day preservation of past eras of pastoral farms and ranches on the rugged Pacific coast.
