YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK - FALL NOVEMBER 2-16, 2020

Silence Comes to Yosemite

Fall brings a quiet hush to Yosemite, relieved of  the overflowing crowds of summer.  Of all the times to photograph here , fall and winter are the most peaceful,  quiet, and reflective. Although not as explosive in autumn color as the east coast, Yosemite lets you know winter is coming. Oaks begin to drop their leaves and add colorful foregrounds to the granite monoliths, the Merced becomes more accessible, fog and mist of cold mornings hovers hauntingly  in the valley. In the evenings you can hear the coyotes pack up for the night, their howls piercing the quiet solitude of fall.
