The Water Flows

Ah, springtime in Yosemite. Once a year after the solitude of winter,  Yosemite transforms itself with new life and creation. Cascading waterfalls from the melting winter snows fall thousands of feet to the Merced with thundering force.  Dogwoods bloom white and pink along the Merced's banks. New foliage turns winters gray palette to a life affirming rebirth of lush color. Springtime  brings longer days,  and warmer temperatures in this heavenly paradise. Subjects are everywhere, and walking through this amazing valley provides some of the most amazing views of natures geological forces in California.

The Vally is surrounded by granite monoliths reaching upward beyond the trees.  Yosemite is not really a wide angle kind of place. Telephoto fixed or zoom lenses will allow you to reach out to pull in these subjects whether raging waterfalls, isolated timbers clinging to granite outcrops.

The majority of our time will be spent hiking the many trails in the valley, photographing the multiple viewpoints along the way. We shall hike to Mirror Lake, view Bridalveil Fall up close and at distance, take in the tunnel view, Cook Meadows, the Merceds many banks, and Yosemite Falls. If open,  we will visit the Mariposa Grove of giant Sequoias and Glacier Point.

Accommodations will be just outside the park in El Portal. We will dine in all of Yosemite's best restaurants and eateries.
