MONSOON Season

July through September brings Monsoon season to Southwestern Utah. It is one of my favorite times to photograph.  Monsoons are actually caused by wind patterns. Most often associated with Southern Asia, wind conditions and ocean temperature increases  occur as they develop in the south and move up through Arizona towards Zion.....Thunderstorms, lighting spectacles, flash flooding, and the most beautiful cloud formations I've ever witnessed are a sight  to behold.  Sometimes they come and go quickly. Other times they may linger  over the landscape all day.  This is another instance where I was  making a quick trip over to Zion, and noticed the cloud formations in the Sheep Bridge Natural Preserve that runs along the Virgin River in Virgin.  I turned off the highway and headed towards open plateau's for some clear views.. I was unfortunately caught without my camera, but did have my iPhone to save the day.  I  spent the next hour photographing  Gods dispay before it evaporated. There is electricity in the air, an intensified charge  that one is experiencing creation. Its been a year since that day and so far this year the monsoon has been fairly mild...But there's still time !   Wait and watch !!
