SIERRA FOOTHILS

RISING TO THE GREAT SIERRA'S

The Sierra foothills feature some of the most beautiful  landscapes in California..Often by Californains as a gateway to the high Sierra, the foothills rise up to 4,000 feet before further elevation begins to introduce Pines and Fir...Dotted throughout with beautiful oaks, and rolling pasturelands, the Foothilss became a favorite haunt.. Having moved to Sonora in 2013 , I now had access to this beautiful place within an easy drive..Tis particular series caught me by surprise...I was drivening past Wilms Road on the way home and noticed a fantastic group of low hanging clouds stretched out over the Wilms Road ranch lands...I immediately turned to take a look...Rewarding me were skies and clouds, and light that couldnt have been scripted any better... photographers drew set !!  I only had my I-phone with  me, but it proved adequate to record the fascinating formations...Within an hour I was done, feeling as if I was riding in the clouds themselves....it has become one of my favorite series...luck, a phone, and taking the time to "take a look"
